Some Star Wars Trivia- Revenge of the Jedi and The Jedi Code

REVENGE OF THE JEDI

Did you know that George Lucas had intended for "Return of the Jedi" to be named "Revenge of the Jedi?" Thats right! After a limited amount of merchandise and memorabilia had been produced he decided that "Revenge" was not a Jedi attribute and changed one word in the title to "Return." As my second favorite installment of the star wars saga and as a Star Wars nerd I full heartedly agree. "Revenge of the Sith" made its debut 22 years later completing the saga and filling in a few questions related to the jedi code.

Do you notice something interesting about this poster? (besides the title of course.) Take a good look at the color of the lightsabers and who is holding them. Interesting, no?

THE JEDI CODE
There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos: there is harmony
There is no death; there is the Force.

The code was the focus of meditations on the Force by the Jedi Master Oden-Urr, a veteran of The Great Hyperspace Wars, which I will blog about for you on another date.

During the restructuring of the Jedi Order after the fall of the Empire, Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker rewrote the jedi code for the newer generation of Jedi. The code kept the same core beliefs as the millennia old code, rewritten for better understanding.

Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.
Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others.
Jedi respect all life, in any form.
Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy.
Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

In this clip we see Anikan stray from the Jedi Code. “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” -Yoda

So I found these playing cards for David that he'll have to show you next time. The backs are all different Star Wars posters! Even in foreign countries. AND the "Revenge of the Jedi" that you just posted. He LOVES them. If I see another deck I'll pick one up for you. At the time I picked up the last one. They are at Rite Aide of all places!
